The workshop logbook
Every job. Every mile.
Written down properly.
Underbonnet is a workshop job-list and maintenance log for classic and vintage car owners who do their own work — granular, mileage-aware, and built for the garage, not for proving history to a buyer. The job-list that lives with the car, not a folder of receipts — whether the spanners are in your hands or a specialist's.
As detailed as the job needs
Log work at the level it actually happens. A hundred-mile grease round, a carb tweak to re-check next run, the faint tick you're keeping an ear on. Recurring schedules bring jobs back when they're due, by calendar or by mileage.
Knows what's fitted
A component record for what's actually on the car: what it is, where it came from, and any fitment notes. So re-ordering a part, or remembering what you used last time, doesn't start with guesswork.
Built for the garage
Log as you go, whether that's at a show, on the drive, or in the workshop. Export the full log as a PDF service log when insurance, a sale, or your own records need it.
Know your car properly
Built by an owner who greases a 1926 Singer's chassis every hundred miles — and just as much for a Mk1 Golf kept sharp on the driveway, or a car that sees a specialist for the big jobs. Most owners are a mix: some jobs you do yourself, some you hand over, and the record should hold both. If you keep a mental list of jobs the car still needs, this is where it goes.
